What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Kaneka Ubiquinol, a form of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), at 100 mg per softgel. Coenzyme Q10 is a natural compound your cells use to produce energy and protect themselves from oxidative stress.
The softgel also contains inactive ingredients—extra virgin olive oil, bovine gelatin, glycerin, water, turmeric, sunflower lecithin, and candelilla wax—that help deliver and stabilize the active ingredient.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Coenzyme Q10 is likely effective for treating coenzyme Q10 deficiency. It's also possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy, though the evidence for these uses is not as strong.
The quality of research varies by condition, so talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this supplement makes sense for your particular situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Coenzyme Q10 is generally well tolerated by most adults at typical doses. In clinical trials, no serious side effects were reported.
Gastrointestinal discomfort—such as nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, and appetite suppression—occurs in less than 1% of people taking it; dividing doses above 100 mg throughout the day may help. Headache, dizziness, and insomnia have been reported rarely, as have minor skin reactions like itching or rash.
There isn't enough data on safety during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check before starting if you take warfarin or other blood thinners—coenzyme Q10 may reduce their effectiveness. Also double-check if you're on alkylating agent chemotherapy (like cyclophosphamide) or blood pressure medications, as this supplement may interfere with both.
Use the search tool on this page with your exact medication names to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Ubiquinol Gold is a straightforward, single-ingredient coenzyme Q10 supplement that works best if you have a documented CoQ10 deficiency. It's generally well tolerated, but you'll want to double-check it with your doctor if you take warfarin or certain chemotherapy drugs.
Talk to your pharmacist before you start, especially if you're on blood pressure or cancer medications.

Ubiquinol Gold 100 mg by NutriGold Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ubiquinol Gold by NutriGold contains one active ingredient—Kaneka Ubiquinol (coenzyme Q10)—that does interact with some medications.
The most serious concern is with blood thinners, particularly warfarin (Coumadin). Coenzyme Q10 may reduce warfarin's ability to thin your blood, and four cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness have been reported.
If you take warfarin, you'll need to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Coenzyme Q10 may also interfere with certain chemotherapy drugs, particularly alkylating agents like cyclophosphamide. Because it has antioxidant properties, it could theoretically reduce how well these cancer drugs work.
Additionally, it may have minor additive effects with blood pressure medications—some research shows coenzyme Q10 can lower blood pressure, though other studies conflict on this.
Altogether, these interactions span 196 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to look up your exact prescriptions before you start.

For each ingredient in Ubiquinol Gold 100 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Kaneka Ubiquinol
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
