Uri-gen Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Genestra Brands
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Uri-gen against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Uri-gen by Genestra Brands
Four independent checks of what is known — a summary of the available information, not a grade of the product itself.
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
The stated purpose hasn't been mapped to our evidence data yet.
Why this rating?
- We haven't mapped this product's purpose to our evidence data yet — it'll be graded on the next content refresh.
Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.
Why this rating?
- The label discloses an exact amount for 3 of its 3 active ingredients.
- No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.
The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.
Why this rating?
- 2 of the 2 matched ingredients can interact with medications — Ash, Juniper.
- The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
- Some involve high-stakes drug classes: diabetes medications; lithium.
- For scale: 266 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.
Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.
Why this rating?
- We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 2 matched ingredients.
- Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 2 of 2.
- General safety write-ups exist for 2 of 2.
- Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.
HelloPharmacist summaryFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Assessment coverage: 2 of 3 active ingredients matched to our full ingredient reviews (monographs). Based on the product label dated Feb 24, 2017.
This Scorecard evaluates available label information, ingredient evidence, and known medication-safety considerations. It does not independently verify product identity, purity, potency, contamination, or manufacturing quality. How these ratings are computed

European Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) bud extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use with antidiabetes drugs might affect glucose control and increase the risk of hypoglycemia. Dose adjustments to diabetes medications might be necessary. Animal research shows that ash seed/fruit extract reduces fasting levels of glucose. Although clinical research in patients without diabetes shows that ash seed/fruit extract does not significantly affect blood glucose levels, insulin levels, or homeostatic model of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), it may lower the incremental glucose area under the curve and decrease 2-hour blood glucose following an oral glucose tolerance test. Ash seed/fruit extract has not been evaluated in patients with diabetes. Until more is known, use cautiously in patients taking antidiabetes drugs.
Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of ash seed with antihypertensive drugs might have additive blood pressure lowering effects. Animal research shows that ash seed extract can decrease blood pressure. This effect has not been evaluated in humans. Until more is known, use cautiously in patients taking antihypertensive drugs.
Some antihypertensive drugs include nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, Verelan), diltiazem (Cardizem), isradipine (DynaCirc), felodipine (Plendil), amlodipine (Norvasc), and others.
Juniper (Juniperus communis) young shoot extract

Theoretically, taking juniper berry with antidiabetes medications might cause additive hypoglycemia.
Animal research shows that juniper berry can lower blood glucose.
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, juniper berry might increase the risk of adverse effects from diuretic drugs.
Juniper berry is thought to have mild diuretic effects.
Lithium
Theoretically, juniper berry might reduce lithium excretion and increase serum levels of lithium.
Juniper berry is thought to have mild diuretic effects.
