Women's Daily Probiotic Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Thorne
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Women's Daily Probiotic against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Women's Daily Probiotic by Thorne
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This product contains eight active ingredients: four checked probiotic strains (Lactobacillus acidophilus UALa-01, L. crispatus LBV-88, L. gasseri LBV-150N, and L. jensenii LBV-116) and three additional strains we have no data on (L. plantarum, L. reuteri, and L. rhamnosus). All are live bacteria meant to support vaginal and digestive health.
The inactive ingredients are maltodextrin, hypromellose, rice extract blend, and rice husk—standard capsule fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for these probiotic strains is mixed. L. acidophilus is possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome, Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis.
L. crispatus is possibly effective for bacterial vaginosis but has insufficient evidence for urinary tract infections, preterm labor, periodontitis, and HIV/AIDS. L. gasseri and L. jensenii have insufficient evidence for the conditions studied—including common cold, asthma, diarrhea, and hay fever for L. gasseri—and we hold no effectiveness ratings for L. jensenii at all.
For the three strains we couldn't check (L. plantarum, L. reuteri, L. rhamnosus), effectiveness data isn't on file.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The checked strains are generally well tolerated in healthy adults, though safety data are limited for some. Gastrointestinal side effects—bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and diarrhea—can occur but are uncommon.
Rarely, you might have nausea or gas. There's a theoretical concern that these live organisms could cause infection in certain patients, especially those with a weakened immune system or serious illness, though this is rare.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding safety data aren't established for these strains—check with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, double-check the timing with your pharmacist—don't take this probiotic on the same day as your antibiotic. Separate the doses to protect the live organisms in this product.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product is designed for women's vaginal and digestive health and is generally well tolerated. If you take antibiotics, space them away from this probiotic so the bacteria don't get killed off.
If you're pregnant, nursing, have a weakened immune system, or take any medications, talk with your pharmacist before starting.

Women's Daily Probiotic by Thorne Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Thorne's Women's Daily Probiotic contains eight ingredients, six of which we could check for interactions.
All the documented interactions involve antibiotic drugs. Four of the probiotic strains in this product—Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. crispatus, L. gasseri, and L. jensenii—theoretically may have their effectiveness reduced if you take them at the same time as antibiotics (Moderate severity).
Since these are live organisms, antibiotics can kill a significant number of them. The key is timing: space out your antibiotic and probiotic doses—don't take them together on the same day.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
We could not check three of the ingredient strains: Lactobacillus plantarum, L. reuteri, and L. rhamnosus. We hold no interaction data for them, so we can't say whether they affect any medications.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Use the medication checker on this page to look up your exact antibiotic. If you're already on one, talk with your pharmacist about the best way to time this probiotic.
