Rabeprazole Sodium falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Acacia Rigidula interacts with.

Theoretically, Acacia rigidula products that are adulterated with beta-methylphenylethylamine (BMPEA) might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA, an adulterant found in many Acacia rigidula products, inhibits CYP3A4 enzyme by 37%.

Here's the gist for your rabeprazole (Aciphex). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear this medicine. Some Acacia rigidula products have been found spiked with a hidden stimulant called BMPEA, and lab testing suggests BMPEA can slow that enzyme down a bit. In theory, that could let rabeprazole build up slightly, which might mean a little more of its usual effects, like headache, stomach upset, or diarrhea.

But be careful not to over-worry here. This concern comes only from test-tube research, not from real people, so we honestly don't know if it matters in everyday life. The bigger issue is that these products may contain an unapproved stimulant at all. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before trying anything with Acacia rigidula.

What Is Rabeprazole Used For?

Brand names: Aciphex, Aciphex Sprinkle

Rabeprazole delayed-release tablets treat a range of acid-related conditions in adults, including healing and maintenance of erosive or ulcerative GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), symptomatic GERD, duodenal ulcers, and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. They are also used alongside antibiotics (amoxicillin and clarithromycin) to eradicate H. pylori bacteria and reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer coming back.

In adolescents 12 years and older, rabeprazole delayed-release tablets are approved for short-term treatment of symptomatic GERD. Both AcipHex and Rabeprazole Sodium delayed-release tablets share this indication set for adults and adolescents 12 and older.
