These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Adrue interacts with whole categories of medication. Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Adrue in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CNS DEPRESSANTS
1 of 2Why this applies to Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital
Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Adrue interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The medication you're asking about (brand name Micomp PB) is a combination product, and the piece that matters here is the pentobarbital, a barbiturate that calms your central nervous system. Adrue has been studied mostly in animals, where it appeared to deepen and lengthen the sleepiness caused by sedative drugs. So the concern is simple: pairing Adrue with this medicine could pile sedation on top of sedation.
In real life, that might show up as extra drowsiness, dizziness, slowed breathing, foggy thinking, or feeling unsteady on your feet. To be fair, this is a theoretical worry based on lab and animal work, not solid human studies, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, since pentobarbital is already a strong sedative, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

BARBITURATES
2 of 2Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital also falls under BARBITURATES.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The medication you're asking about is a combination product, and the piece that matters here is the pentobarbital, which is a barbiturate. Barbiturates calm the brain down, and Adrue may have its own mild sedating, calming effect. So the concern is simple: putting the two together could deepen that drowsiness. In animal studies, adrue roughly tripled the sleep time from a barbiturate, so the theory is that it may add to the sedation rather than work through the liver.
For you, that might show up as feeling extra sleepy, foggy, dizzy, or slower in your reflexes, on top of the drowsiness pentobarbital already causes. The good news is this is based only on lab and animal work, not solid human evidence, so it's a precaution more than a proven danger. Still, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and don't drive until you know how you feel.

Adrue (Cyperus articulatus) is a sedge whose rhizome has long been used in traditional medicine for nausea and other stomach complaints, and as a mild calming agent.
