Animal research suggests that taking adrue in combination with sodium thiopental or diazepam increases total sleep time up to four-fold compared to the effects of the drugs alone. Theoretically, concomitant use of adrue with CNS depressants might cause additive sedation. Some CNS depressants include benzodiazepines, such as diazepam (Valium), alprazolam (Xanax), triazolam (Halcion), and estazolam (ProSom); barbiturates, such as mephobarbital (Mebaral), phenobarbital (Luminal Sodium), and pentobarbital sodium (Nembutal); zolpidem (Ambien); and others.

Here's the gist with Librax: the chlordiazepoxide part is a benzodiazepine, so it already has a calming, sedating effect on your brain. Adrue has been studied mostly in animals, where it seemed to deepen and lengthen the sleepiness caused by sedatives. Putting the two together could stack that effect, so you might feel extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical and comes from lab and animal work, not solid human studies, so we can't say how strong it really is. Still, since both can dull the nervous system, it's worth caution. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, and don't stop your Librax on your own.

Animal research suggests that taking adrue in combination with diazepam increases total sleep time four-fold compared to the effects of diazepam alone. Theoretically, concomitant use adrue and benzodiazepines might increase the risk of drowsiness and motor reflex depression. Some benzodiazepines include clonazepam (Klonopin), diazepam (Valium), lorazepam (Ativan), and others.

Here's the gist with Librax. The chlordiazepoxide part of this pill is a benzodiazepine, a calming, sedating medicine. Adrue has been studied mostly in animals, where it seemed to deepen and lengthen the sleepiness from a related drug. So the worry is simple: stacking a calming herb on top of an already calming medicine could leave you more drowsy, foggy, or unsteady than expected.

In real life that might look like extra grogginess, slowed reflexes, or feeling wobbly when you stand or walk. Keep in mind this is theoretical and based on lab and animal data only, not solid human research, so I'm not trying to scare you. Still, before pairing Adrue with Librax, run it by your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you drive or already feel sedated on it.

Chlordiazepoxide and clidinium capsules are used to help control both the physical and emotional factors involved in gastrointestinal (digestive) disorders. This includes use as add-on therapy for peptic ulcer, irritable bowel syndrome (also called irritable colon, spastic colon, or mucous colitis), and acute enterocolitis (sudden inflammation of the intestines).

Librax is one brand available in capsule form and is approved for the same set of gastrointestinal uses.
