Why this applies to Caffeine (OTC drug)

Caffeine (OTC drug) falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Aegeline interacts with.

Aegeline inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity in vitro. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. Theoretically, aegeline may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4. Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others. Use aegeline cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.

Here's the honest version: this concern is theoretical. Aegeline was shown to slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 in a test tube, and the idea is that blocking that enzyme could let certain drugs build up. But there are no human reports of this actually happening, and the evidence is only lab and animal data.

On top of that, your caffeine is mostly cleared by a different enzyme (CYP1A2), not CYP3A4, so this particular interaction isn't a strong fit for caffeine anyway. If aegeline did nudge caffeine levels up, you might feel more jittery, have a racing heart, or trouble sleeping. My bigger worry is aegeline itself, since it's been tied to serious liver injury and regulators warned against it. I'd avoid it and check with your pharmacist or doctor.
