Loratadine, Pseudoephedrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Aegeline interacts with.

Aegeline inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) activity in vitro. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. Theoretically, aegeline may increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4. Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others. Use aegeline cautiously or avoid in patients taking these drugs.

Here's the gist for your Claritin-D. The loratadine part of this combo is partly handled by an enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab dishes, aegeline appears to slow that enzyme down. If that held true in people, your body might clear loratadine a little slower, so a bit more could hang around. In theory that could nudge up mild side effects like dry mouth, headache, or feeling drowsy. The pseudoephedrine side isn't really cleared this way, so the bigger picture stays the same.

Honestly, this is very weak evidence (just test-tube and animal work, never seen in real patients), and it's rated minor. The real concern with aegeline is liver injury, which is why regulators warned against it. I'd skip aegeline and check with your pharmacist if you want to be sure.

Aegeline is a compound originally identified in the bael tree (Aegle marmelos) that gained attention because it was added to some weight-loss and workout supplements. It is best known for being linked to serious liver injury in a product called OxyELITE Pro, and U.S. regulators warned against products containing it. There is no good evidence it safely helps with weight loss, and it should generally be avoided.
