Here's an interesting twist with this pairing. Dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) isn't your typical diabetes medicine that lowers blood sugar. It actually does the opposite, telling your liver to dump stored sugar into your blood to rescue you from a dangerous low. So while agrimony has shown a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect in animal studies, it would be working against what dasiglucagon is trying to do, not adding to it.

The honest bottom line: this concern is only theoretical and based on animal research, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you ever need this emergency injection, you want it to work fully. It's always smart to mention any herbs you take to your pharmacist or doctor, just so everyone's on the same page.

Brand name: Zegalogue

Zegalogue is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — a dangerously low blood sugar episode — in adults and children aged 6 years and older who have diabetes. Severe hypoglycemia is a medical emergency that requires immediate action.

Zegalogue is not a day-to-day diabetes medicine. It is prescribed as an emergency kit to be on hand in case a person with diabetes becomes unresponsive or cannot safely swallow food or juice to raise their blood sugar.
