Here's the short version: Levemir (insulin detemir) already lowers your blood sugar, and in animal studies agrimony seemed to nudge blood sugar down too. Put the two together and there's a theoretical chance your sugar could drop lower than you expect, which means more risk of hypoglycemia. That can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

I want to be honest, though: this is based on lab and animal work, not solid human studies, so it's more of a 'keep an eye out' than a red alarm. If you decide to use agrimony, check your blood sugar a bit more often at first and let your pharmacist or doctor know, especially before changing anything with your insulin.

Levemir (insulin detemir) is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults and children with type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes. It is a basal insulin, meaning it works around the clock to keep background blood sugar levels steady.

Levemir is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous buildup of acids in the blood that requires a different type of insulin).
