This combination cold and cough product (which pairs an antihistamine, a cough suppressant, and a decongestant) is grouped with medicines that can sometimes make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. The idea here is simple: alfalfa, especially in large supplement doses, contains chlorophyll and other compounds that may also raise sun sensitivity. Put together, the worry is that your skin could burn or react more easily in the sun.

Honestly, this is a very theoretical concern. It comes from animal studies using high alfalfa doses, and we don't have good human proof that it matters. A normal food amount of alfalfa is unlikely to be an issue. If you take alfalfa supplements, just use sunscreen and ask your pharmacist before combining them.
