Here's the gist with danazol and alfalfa: this isn't about how your body breaks down the medication. Instead, both can make your skin a little more sensitive to sunlight. Danazol itself can sometimes cause photosensitivity, and alfalfa (mostly from its chlorophyll content) may do the same. Stacking them together could, in theory, mean you burn or react more easily in the sun.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes from animal studies using large amounts of alfalfa, and we don't really know if it matters in people. So don't panic. Just be a bit sun-smart (sunscreen, a hat) and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding an alfalfa supplement.

What Is Danazol Used For?

Brand names: Cyclomen, Danocrine

Danazol capsules are used to treat endometriosis — a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing pain and sometimes infertility. It works by suppressing the hormonal cycle that drives this abnormal tissue growth.

Danazol capsules are also used to prevent attacks of hereditary angioedema — a genetic condition that causes episodes of severe swelling in the skin, abdomen, face, and airway. All types of attacks (cutaneous, abdominal, and laryngeal) can be prevented with danazol.
