Danazol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INHIBITORS — the group Adrafinil interacts with.

Theoretically, drugs that inhibit CYP3A4 might increase the levels and clinical effects of adrafinil.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil is metabolized by CYP3A4.

Here's the simple version: your liver turns adrafinil into modafinil, the part that actually keeps you awake and alert. Danazol can slow down CYP3A4, the same liver enzyme that clears modafinil. When that pathway is dialed down, modafinil can hang around longer and build up, which may push its stimulant effects too far. That could mean trouble sleeping, headache, jitteriness, a racing heart, or feeling anxious or irritable.

I'll be straight with you, though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these compounds are processed, not on real patient reports. Adrafinil itself is unregulated and hard on the liver, and danazol can stress the liver too. Please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before pairing them.

What Is Danazol Used For?

Brand names: Cyclomen, Danocrine

Danazol capsules are used to treat endometriosis — a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing pain and sometimes infertility. It works by suppressing the hormonal cycle that drives this abnormal tissue growth.

Danazol capsules are also used to prevent attacks of hereditary angioedema — a genetic condition that causes episodes of severe swelling in the skin, abdomen, face, and airway. All types of attacks (cutaneous, abdominal, and laryngeal) can be prevented with danazol.
