You're asking about Prevpac, which is a combo pack used to clear out H. pylori (the stomach bug behind many ulcers). It contains lansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that lowers stomach acid, plus two antibiotics. The piece that matters here is the lansoprazole.

There are a few scattered reports that alpinia (lesser galangal) might bump up stomach acid, which could in theory work against the lansoprazole and make it a little less effective at keeping acid down. Honestly, this is very weak, mostly anecdotal evidence, and the everyday amounts you'd get from cooking are unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated supplements are the bigger question mark. If you're partway through this treatment, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist before adding alpinia capsules.
