Here's the honest scoop on combining annatto with your Jentadueto XR (which pairs linagliptin and metformin). The concern is purely theoretical right now, coming from animal lab work rather than human studies. In those studies, annatto extracts sometimes nudged blood sugar down and sometimes up, so we can't say with confidence which way it would push things for you.

Since your medication is already working to lower blood sugar, the main thing to watch for is an additive drop. That could look like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling unusually hungry or foggy. Food amounts of annatto used as a coloring are very unlikely to cause trouble. If you take concentrated annatto supplements, just keep an eye on your glucose readings and check in with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.
