Here's the simple version: this isn't about apples changing how your body breaks down Invokamet (the canagliflozin and metformin combo). Instead, it's about the sugar in apples themselves. Apples, and especially apple juice, contain natural sugars that can nudge your blood glucose upward. So in theory, drinking a lot of apple juice could work against what your medication is trying to do, which is keep your blood sugar steady.

The good news is this is a theoretical concern based on how things work, not strong real-world proof. A whole apple eaten as a snack is unlikely to throw you off, since the fiber slows the sugar release. Large amounts of juice matter more. Keep enjoying apples as part of a balanced diet, and if you notice your readings climbing, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.
