Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Dexbrompheniramine, Pseudoephedrine
Acetaminophen, Dexbrompheniramine, Pseudoephedrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Atractylodes interacts with.
In animals, atractylodes administered at high doses has been shown to induce CYP1A2 activity. This effect has not been shown in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with this combo cold-and-allergy product (which pairs acetaminophen for pain and fever, dexbrompheniramine for sneezing and runny nose, and pseudoephedrine as a decongestant). In high-dose animal studies, atractylodes seemed to speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. If that happened in people, it could theoretically clear some of these medicines a little faster, meaning the fever and aches might not be controlled quite as well.
The honest truth is that this is very shaky evidence. It has only been seen in animals, never confirmed in humans, and it's rated a minor concern. For most folks taking a normal cold product short-term, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you're using atractylodes regularly, it's worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Acetaminophen, Dexbrompheniramine, Pseudoephedrine page
“Sinadrin Plus (acetaminophen, dexbrompheniramine, and pseudoephedrine) deserves real care around supplements, mostly because pseudoephedrine is a stimulant and acetaminophen taxes the liver. Nine of the 217 ingredients on file carry a major rating, and they cluster around those two risks: ephedra and similar herbs can pile onto the sti…”

About Atractylodes
What is Atractylodes?
- Digestive upset and poor appetite
- Bloating and fluid retention
- General fatigue or 'weakness'
- Diarrhea
- Support within traditional formulas
Atractylodes is a root used for centuries in traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Thai medicine, mostly for digestive complaints and fatigue, often as part of multi-herb formulas. Modern research is still early and mostly from lab and animal studies, so its true benefits in people are not well proven. If you want to try it, talk with a pharmacist or doctor first, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
