CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES

Acetaminophen, Dextromethorphan, Pseudoephedrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) interacts with.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA strongly inhibits CYP2D6.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the piece that matters with this combo product: the dextromethorphan portion (the cough suppressant) is cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Lab studies suggest BMPEA can strongly block that enzyme. If it does, dextromethorphan could build up and hang around longer, which might mean more drowsiness, dizziness, or in higher amounts a spacey, restless feeling.
On top of that, BMPEA is an amphetamine-like stimulant, and your product already contains pseudoephedrine, also a stimulant. Stacking the two could push your heart rate and blood pressure up more than you'd want. Keep in mind this enzyme interaction is theoretical (based on lab data, not people), but the bigger concern is BMPEA itself. It's best avoided. Please run this by your pharmacist or doctor.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES

In vitro research shows that BMPEA inhibits CYP3A4 by up to 37%.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the bigger picture with this combo cold medicine. The lab-only concern is that BMPEA may slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, which helps clear the dextromethorphan portion of your cold product. If that enzyme is partly blocked, dextromethorphan could build up a bit, possibly leading to more drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling foggy. Keep in mind this is only theoretical and based on test-tube data, not real people.
Honestly, my bigger worry is the overlap in stimulant effects. BMPEA acts like amphetamine, and the pseudoephedrine in your medicine also raises heart rate and blood pressure. Stacking these could leave you jittery or push your blood pressure up. I'd skip BMPEA and check with your pharmacist before combining.

BMPEA is thought to have stimulant effects, including cardiovascular effects such as hypertension, tachycardia, and cardiac arrest.

Here's the thing to focus on in this combo: the pseudoephedrine in your cold medicine is itself a stimulant decongestant. It can already nudge your heart rate and blood pressure up on its own. BMPEA is an amphetamine-like stimulant, so stacking the two means you're essentially doubling up on that same kind of pressure-and-pulse effect.
This isn't about one drug being broken down differently. It's a piggyback effect. Together they could raise the odds of a racing heartbeat, jitteriness, high blood pressure, or chest discomfort. To be fair, this concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than firm human studies. Still, since BMPEA is an unapproved supplement with real cardiovascular warnings, I'd skip it and check with your pharmacist first.
