Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) + Methoxyamphetamine
Methoxyamphetamine brand name: PMA.
Methoxyamphetamine falls into 2 drug categories that Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) can interact with; the most serious is rated moderate. Theoretically, BMPEA might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.

These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) interacts with whole categories of medication. Methoxyamphetamine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Methoxyamphetamine
Methoxyamphetamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) interacts with.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA strongly inhibits CYP2D6.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the basic idea. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to help break down and clear methoxyamphetamine (PMA). In lab studies, BMPEA appears to block that enzyme fairly strongly. If that holds true in people, PMA wouldn't get cleared as quickly, so it could build up and hit harder than expected.
That matters a lot here, because PMA is already a dangerous stimulant on its own. More of it lingering around could mean a racing or pounding heart, dangerously high body temperature, spikes in blood pressure, and agitation. Both of these substances are unapproved and risky, and I'd strongly encourage you not to combine them. Please talk with a doctor or pharmacist before going anywhere near either one.

STIMULANT DRUGS
2 of 2Methoxyamphetamine also falls under STIMULANT DRUGS.
BMPEA is thought to have stimulant effects, including cardiovascular effects such as hypertension, tachycardia, and cardiac arrest.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: both of these are stimulants, and stacking two stimulants tends to gang up on your heart and blood vessels. BMPEA is chemically close to amphetamine, and methoxyamphetamine (PMA) is itself a powerful, dangerous amphetamine-type compound. Taken together, the worry is that their effects pile on top of each other, pushing up heart rate and blood pressure and raising the risk of dangerous rhythm problems or worse.
I want to be honest about the evidence: this is a theoretical concern based on how these chemicals behave, not solid human studies. But PMA in particular has a frightening safety record on its own. I'd strongly urge you not to combine these, and please talk with a pharmacist or doctor before going near either one.

What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.
- AHigh-quality meta-analysis (quantitative systematic review).
- BCase-control study.
- CConsensus.
- DAnecdotal evidence.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Methoxyamphetamine page
“Methoxyamphetamine (PMA) is an amphetamine that leaves very little room for error, since doses not far above the active one can turn toxic, so I read this list as a genuine warning rather than background material. The core problem is stacked stimulation.”

About Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea)
What is Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea)?
- Weight loss
- Pre-workout energy
- Athletic performance
- Appetite suppression
- Mental focus
Beta-methylphenethylamine (BMPEA) is a synthetic stimulant chemically similar to amphetamine that has been found in some weight-loss and sports supplements, often without being clearly listed on the label. It is not an approved or well-studied dietary ingredient, and regulators have warned that it may carry real cardiovascular risks. Because of safety concerns and the lack of human research, it is best avoided.
