Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) + Tasimelteon
Tasimelteon brand names: Hetlioz, Hetlioz Lq.
Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) has a moderate interaction with Tasimelteon. Theoretically, BMPEA might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Tasimelteon
Tasimelteon falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea) interacts with.
In vitro research shows that BMPEA inhibits CYP3A4 by up to 37%.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with these two. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear tasimelteon (Hetlioz) from your system. In lab dish testing, BMPEA appears to slow that same enzyme down by roughly a third. If that holds true in people, tasimelteon could break down more slowly and build up a bit, which might mean stronger or longer-lasting effects like next-morning grogginess, daytime drowsiness, or a groggy, hung-over feeling.
I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube data, so we don't really know if it matters in real life. The bigger concern is BMPEA itself. It's an amphetamine-like stimulant that can raise heart rate and blood pressure, and it shouldn't be in supplements at all. I'd steer clear of it and check with your pharmacist before combining anything new with tasimelteon.

About Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea)
What is Beta-methylphenethylamine (bmpea)?
- Weight loss
- Pre-workout energy
- Athletic performance
- Appetite suppression
- Mental focus
Beta-methylphenethylamine (BMPEA) is a synthetic stimulant chemically similar to amphetamine that has been found in some weight-loss and sports supplements, often without being clearly listed on the label. It is not an approved or well-studied dietary ingredient, and regulators have warned that it may carry real cardiovascular risks. Because of safety concerns and the lack of human research, it is best avoided.
About Tasimelteon
What Is Tasimelteon Used For?
Brand names: Hetlioz, Hetlioz Lq
Tasimelteon capsules are approved to treat Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder (Non-24) in adults. Non-24 is a condition where the body's internal clock does not align with the normal 24-hour day, causing sleep and wake times to shift continuously.
Hetlioz capsules are also approved to treat nighttime sleep disturbances in Smith-Magenis Syndrome (SMS) in patients 16 years of age and older. Hetlioz LQ oral suspension is approved specifically for nighttime sleep disturbances in SMS in pediatric patients ages 3 to 15 years.
