Here's the gist with your Ascriptin, which pairs aspirin with two antacids (aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide). One reason those antacids are in there is to buffer stomach acid and protect your stomach lining from the aspirin. Blessed thistle is a bitter herb that may gently nudge your stomach to make more acid. In theory, that could work against the antacid part, so you might notice a bit more stomach upset, heartburn, or burning than usual.

I want to be honest that this is very weak, theoretical evidence, mostly anecdotal, and it's rated minor. Small, food-like amounts of the herb likely won't matter much, and concentrated supplement doses are the bigger question. If you take this combo regularly or have a sensitive stomach, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Aspirin is used to temporarily relieve minor aches and pains from headaches, backaches, muscle aches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, the common cold, and minor arthritis pain. It also temporarily reduces fever.

Some coated aspirin tablet products note that, under a doctor's supervision, aspirin can help prevent another heart attack or stroke in adults who have already had one. Because of their delayed-release design, those coated products will not give fast relief for headaches or other symptoms needing quick relief.
