These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Boswellia Serrata interacts with whole categories of medication. Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Boswellia Serrata in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
1 of 2Why this applies to Aripiprazole Lauroxil
Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Boswellia Serrata interacts with.
In vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata gum resin inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear aripiprazole (Aristada) out of your system. In lab dish studies, boswellic acids from Boswellia appear to slow that same enzyme down. If that held true in real life, your aripiprazole levels could creep up a bit, which might mean stronger effects or more side effects like drowsiness, restlessness, dizziness, or feeling shaky or stiff.
The important thing to know is that this is theoretical, based only on test-tube research, not on people taking both together. So I wouldn't panic. Since your injection is long-acting and steady, even small shifts are worth a quick heads-up. Just mention the Boswellia to your pharmacist or prescriber before starting it.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Aripiprazole Lauroxil also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
In vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata gum resin inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Other in vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes at most concentrations, although it may modestly induce enzyme activity at low concentrations.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with these two. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear aripiprazole lauroxil (Aristada) out of your system. In lab dish studies, Boswellia appears to slow down that enzyme at most concentrations. If that happened in real life, your aripiprazole levels could drift a bit higher, which might mean more side effects like drowsiness, restlessness, dizziness, or muscle stiffness. At very low amounts it may do the opposite and speed clearance, but that's less likely to matter.
The honest part: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube research, not real patients. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but since your injection is a long-acting medication, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or prescriber before starting Boswellia.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aripiprazole Lauroxil page
“Aripiprazole lauroxil (Aristada) is a long-acting antipsychotic injection, and because each dose keeps working for weeks, a bad supplement pairing cannot be undone by skipping a pill. So the 16 major-rated entries among its 233 interactions on file deserve to be understood first.”
