Alogliptin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Bulbine Natalensis interacts with.

Theoretically, Bulbine natalensis stem might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Bulbine natalensis stem extract induces CYP3A4 mRNA expression and enzyme activity. Theoretically, this may increase the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates, but this has not been studied in humans.

Here is the good news for anyone taking alogliptin (Nesina): this particular interaction is pretty unlikely to cause you trouble. The concern on file is that Bulbine natalensis may speed up an enzyme called CYP3A4, which would clear certain drugs faster. But alogliptin barely relies on CYP3A4. Your body mostly removes it unchanged through the kidneys, so revving up that enzyme should have little effect on your blood sugar control.

On top of that, the worry comes only from lab and animal studies, not from people, so it is theoretical. The bigger reason to be cautious with Bulbine is its possible strain on the liver and kidneys at higher doses. Since your kidneys clear alogliptin, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
