Dicyclomine, Phenobarbital falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INDUCERS — the group Butterbur interacts with.

Theoretically, CYP3A4 inducers might increase the toxicity of butterbur.
The pyrrolizidine alkaloid (PA) constituents found in some butterbur products are substrates of CYP3A4. Theoretically, drugs that induce CYP3A4 might increase the conversion of PAs to toxic metabolites.

Here's the thing to know about this combo. Your Bentyl with Pb contains phenobarbital, which revs up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Butterbur isn't the worry by itself if you stick to a quality, PA-free product. The concern is older or poorly processed butterbur that still contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs). Those PAs get turned into liver-damaging byproducts by that same enzyme, so a drug that speeds the enzyme up could, in theory, make more of the toxic stuff.

I'll be straight with you: this is a theoretical concern based on how the chemistry works, not real-world reports. To stay safe, only use a verified PA-free butterbur and run it past your pharmacist or doctor first, especially since phenobarbital is already hard on the liver.
