Calotropis + Quinethazone
Quinethazone brand name: Hydromox.
Calotropis has a moderate interaction with Quinethazone. Theoretically, concomitant use of calotropis and potassium depleting diuretics can increase the risk of cardiac glycoside toxicity due to potassium depletion.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
DIURETIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Quinethazone
Quinethazone falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Calotropis interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the concern with these two together. Quinethazone is a thiazide-type water pill, and one of its well-known effects is flushing potassium out of your body. Low potassium on its own can cause muscle cramps, weakness, and an irregular heartbeat. Calotropis contains natural heart-active compounds called cardiac glycosides, and these become more dangerous when your potassium runs low. So the worry is that the water pill drops your potassium, which then makes the plant's effect on the heart stronger and riskier.
This is a theoretical concern based on how both work, not something proven in studies, but the risk is taken seriously because Calotropis can genuinely be toxic. Honestly, I'd steer clear of taking Calotropis internally at all. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining anything like this.

About Calotropis
What is Calotropis?
- Skin conditions and wounds (traditional, topical)
- Joint pain and inflammation
- Digestive complaints
- Coughs and respiratory issues
- Traditional Ayurvedic and folk remedies
Calotropis is a milkweed-family plant long used in traditional medicine, but its milky latex and other parts are potentially toxic and can harm the eyes, skin, and heart. Human evidence for any health benefit is very limited, and the risk of poisoning is real, so it should not be taken internally without expert medical supervision.
