Metformin, Sitagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Chirata interacts with.

Theoretically, taking chirata concomitantly with antidiabetes drugs may increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
In non-fasted animals pretreated with the hypoglycemic drug tolbutamide, taking chirata 250 mg/kg decreased blood glucose levels. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.

Janumet combines two diabetes medicines, metformin and sitagliptin, and both already work to lower your blood sugar. Chirata is a bitter herb that may have its own mild blood-sugar-lowering effect, based mostly on lab and animal studies. So the concern here is simple: stacking the two together could push your sugar a little too low.

If that happens, you might feel shaky, sweaty, dizzy, irritable, or unusually tired. The good news is the evidence is theoretical and not strong, so this isn't a reason to panic. Still, if you'd like to try chirata, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your home glucose readings so you can catch any dips early.
