Losartan Potassium falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyll interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyll with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. In two case reports, pseudoporphyria developed after oral intake of chlorophyll. Theoretically, concomitant use with other photosensitizing drugs may exacerbate this effect.

Here's the thing to know if you take losartan (Cozaar) and want to try a chlorophyll supplement: this isn't about chlorophyll changing how your blood pressure medicine works. Losartan can make some people a little more sensitive to sunlight, and chlorophyll has occasionally been linked to sun-related skin reactions too. Put them together and, in theory, you could sunburn or get a rash more easily.

I'll be honest, this is mostly a theoretical concern built on a couple of case reports, not strong proof. For most folks it's a minor issue. Just use everyday sun sense (sunscreen, a hat, limited midday sun) and watch for any unusual skin redness or blistering. If your skin reacts, or you're unsure, check with your pharmacist or doctor before continuing.

About Losartan

What Is Losartan Used For?

Brand name: Cozaar

Losartan tablets — available as branded Cozaar and several generic products — are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children 6 years and older. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Losartan tablets are also used to reduce the risk of stroke in people with high blood pressure who also have left ventricular hypertrophy (an enlarged left side of the heart). Note: evidence suggests this stroke-risk benefit may not apply to Black patients.

Losartan tablets are additionally approved to protect the kidneys in people with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and signs of kidney damage (diabetic nephropathy). Arbli, the oral suspension form, shares these same approved uses.
