Here's the gist: amlodipine already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. The omega-3 fats in cod liver oil can nudge blood pressure down a little too, so taking both may add up and push your numbers lower than expected. This isn't about cod liver oil changing how your body breaks amlodipine down, it's simply two things working in the same direction.

What might you notice? Dizziness, lightheadedness (especially when standing up), tiredness, or in some cases ankle swelling and flushing that amlodipine can cause on its own. The evidence here is fairly modest and the effect is usually mild, so most people do fine. Still, it's worth checking with your pharmacist or doctor and keeping an eye on your blood pressure before changing anything.

What Is Amlodipine Used For?

Brand name: Norliqva

Amlodipine treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children aged 6–17 years. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Sdamlo (oral solution) is specifically indicated for hypertension in adults and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older.

Amlodipine also treats coronary artery disease in adults, including chronic stable angina (chest pain with exertion), vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina, caused by coronary artery spasms), and documented coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure or significantly reduced heart pumping function.
