This combo pill pairs chlorthalidone (a water pill) with clonidine (which relaxes blood vessels), and both work to bring your blood pressure down. The thought here is simple: coriander itself may nudge blood pressure a little lower, so stacking it on top could in theory add up to too much lowering. That might show up as dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand, tiredness, or feeling faint.

Honestly, though, this is mostly a theoretical concern based on animal studies, not human evidence. The everyday cilantro you cook with is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated coriander extracts or essential oils are where I'd be more cautious. If you use those regularly, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding them.

Here's the gist for your combination pill that pairs chlorthalidone (a water pill) with clonidine (a blood pressure medicine). Chlorthalidone is one of those medications that can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, meaning you may sunburn faster than usual. Coriander contains a compound called coriandrin that, at least in lab studies, may also nudge skin toward being more sun-sensitive.

So the theory is that pairing the two could slightly raise your odds of a sunburn or rash. I'll be honest though, this is based on test-tube research, not real patient cases, and normal cooking amounts of cilantro are very unlikely to matter. Concentrated coriander extracts or oils are a different story. Either way, simple sun protection covers you, and your pharmacist can confirm.
