SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS
Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Chlorpheniramine, Dextromethorphan, Pseudoephedrine
Acetaminophen, Chlorpheniramine, Dextromethorphan, Pseudoephedrine falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Dendrobium interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This is a cold and cough combo, and a couple of its ingredients are the reason I'd mention Dendrobium. Chlorpheniramine (an antihistamine), dextromethorphan (the cough suppressant), and pseudoephedrine (the decongestant) can each nudge the seizure threshold a little lower in sensitive people. Dendrobium contains a compound called dendrobine that, at least on paper, may have the opposite of a calming effect on the brain. Put them together and the theoretical worry is a slightly higher chance of a seizure.
Now, please don't lose sleep over this. The evidence here is theoretical, based on how dendrobine behaves in lab settings, not on real cases in people taking this product. For most folks an occasional cold pill is no big deal. Still, if you have a seizure history or take other risky meds, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Dendrobium
What is Dendrobium?
- Dry mouth and thirst
- Supporting digestion
- General tonic/vitality
- Eye and skin health
- Recovery after illness
Dendrobium is a group of orchids long used in traditional Chinese medicine, often to moisten the body and as a general tonic. Human evidence for its modern health claims is very limited, so it should be viewed as a traditional remedy rather than a proven treatment. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding because safety isn't known.
