The dendrobium constituent dendrobine is reported to have convulsant effects. Theoretically, combining dendrobium with pro-convulsant drugs might increase the risk of seizure. Here's the thing to know about pairing Dendrobium with your Invega Trinza (paliperidone) injection. One natural compound in Dendrobium, called dendrobine, has been reported in lab settings to act as a convulsant, meaning it could nudge the brain toward seizures. Antipsychotics like paliperidone can also slightly lower the seizure threshold on their own, so the worry is that stacking the two might raise the chance of a seizure a little.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's theoretical, based on how these compounds behave in the lab, not on real reports in people. So please don't panic. Still, because seizures are serious, it's worth a quick chat with your doctor or pharmacist before adding Dendrobium.

Paliperidone injection is used to treat schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder in adults. Different branded products are approved for specific treatment situations.

Invega Sustenna (once-monthly injection) treats both schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Invega Trinza (every-three-month injection) and Invega Hafyera (every-six-month injection) treat schizophrenia in adults who have already been stabilized on a paliperidone palmitate injectable. Erzofri extended-release is a once-monthly injectable for schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder in adults.
