Ivabradine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Dhea interacts with.

Theoretically, DHEA might increase the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
Some preliminary evidence shows that DHEA may inhibit CYP3A4; however, the clinical significance of this potential interaction is not known.

Here's the gist with DHEA and ivabradine: your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break ivabradine down and clear it out. Some early, very limited lab signals hint that DHEA might slow that enzyme down a bit. If it does, ivabradine could linger longer than usual and its effects could be amplified.

For ivabradine, that mainly means an extra slowing of your heart rate. You might notice feeling more tired, lightheaded, or dizzy, and some people see brief flashes of brightness in their vision. To be honest, this concern is theoretical and rests on weak, anecdotal evidence, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since DHEA acts like a hormone and ivabradine is a heart medicine, please run it past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

About Ivabradine

What Is Ivabradine Used For?

Brand names: Procoralan, Coralan, Corlentor, Corlanor

Ivabradine (including the brand Corlanor) is used in adults with stable, symptomatic chronic heart failure with reduced pumping function to reduce the risk of being hospitalized for worsening heart failure. It is prescribed when the heart is beating too fast at rest and the patient is either already on the highest tolerated dose of a beta-blocker or cannot take one.

Corlanor is also approved to treat stable, symptomatic heart failure caused by dilated cardiomyopathy (an enlarged, weakened heart muscle) in children ages 6 months and older who have an elevated heart rate.
