Here's the thing to keep in mind: bivalirudin (Angiomax) is a potent blood thinner given by IV, usually in a hospital or cath lab setting during procedures like angioplasty. It works directly to stop clots from forming. DHEA, on the other hand, has shown in some lab and human studies that it can make platelets less sticky, so they don't clump together as easily.

Stacked together, the theory is that DHEA could add a little extra bleeding risk on top of an already strong anticoagulant. In practice, this matters less because bivalirudin is given under close medical supervision and monitoring. Still, it's worth mentioning your DHEA use to the care team. This is a theoretical concern based on limited evidence, so don't panic, just be upfront with your doctor or pharmacist.
