Dong quai has estrogenic effects. Theoretically, concomitant use of large amounts of dong quai might interfere with hormone replacement therapy due to competition for estrogen receptors.

Estrone (Ortho-Est) is a form of estrogen, often used to ease menopause symptoms like hot flashes or to support hormone needs. Here's the idea behind this interaction: some compounds in Dong Quai may weakly act on the same estrogen receptors your body uses. In theory, if you take large amounts of Dong Quai, it could compete with your estrone and slightly dampen how well your hormone therapy works.

I want to be honest with you though, this is based only on lab and animal research, not solid human studies, so it may not matter much in real life. Still, if your symptoms creep back or you feel off, that's worth mentioning. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Dong Quai, rather than changing anything on your own.
