    “Orally, nausea and vomiting have been reported after consuming a specific elderberry and echinacea product (Echinaforce Hot Drink, A. Vogel Bioforce AG). However, it is unclear if this was due to the elderberry or Echinacea contained in the product.

    Raw and unripe elderberries, and the seeds, leaves, and other elder tree parts might cause nausea, vomiting, or severe diarrhea due to cyanogenic glycosides.”

Elderberry is a popular herbal supplement, mainly taken to help with colds and flu. Some small studies suggest it may modestly shorten cold or flu symptoms, but the evidence is limited and not conclusive. What Is Cefdinir Used For?

Brand name: Omnicef

Cefdinir treats mild to moderate bacterial infections in adults, adolescents, and children caused by susceptible bacteria. It is used for community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, acute maxillary sinusitis (sinus infection), pharyngitis/tonsillitis (strep throat), and uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections.

In pediatric patients (ages 6 months through 12 years), cefdinir is also used to treat acute bacterial otitis media (middle ear infection). It should only be used for infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria — not for viral illnesses like the common cold.
