Before anything else, please know that European mandrake is genuinely poisonous and we don't recommend taking it at all. That warning matters more here than any drug interaction. But to answer your question: mandrake's tropane alkaloids (like atropine and scopolamine) slow down how fast your gut moves things along. When your stomach and intestines empty more slowly, a pill like crizotinib can sit there longer and potentially get absorbed more, which could mean more of it ends up in your body.

For crizotinib, that could translate into stronger side effects such as nausea, vomiting, vision changes, swelling, or heart rhythm issues. This is only a theoretical concern based on how these chemicals behave, not something proven in studies. Please don't change anything on your own. Talk with your oncology team or pharmacist first.

About Crizotinib

What Is Crizotinib Used For?

Brand name: Xalkori

Xalkori (crizotinib) treats adult patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors test positive for ALK or ROS1 gene changes, as confirmed by an FDA-approved test.

Xalkori is also used for pediatric patients (age 1 and older) and young adults with relapsed or refractory systemic ALK-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), and for adult and pediatric patients (age 1 and older) with unresectable, recurrent, or refractory ALK-positive inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT). Xalkori's safety and effectiveness in older adults with relapsed or refractory ALK-positive ALCL have not been established.
