Let me start with the most important thing: European mandrake is genuinely poisonous, and I'd never recommend taking it with any medication, let alone a cancer drug like ivosidenib. Please don't use it.

The specific concern here is theoretical, based on how mandrake works rather than real-world cases. Mandrake's compounds (atropine-like chemicals) slow down how your gut moves things along. When your stomach and intestines empty more slowly, a pill like ivosidenib can sit there longer and potentially get absorbed more fully. Ivosidenib is the active drug itself, not a prodrug, so more absorption could mean higher levels in your body. That matters because ivosidenib can affect your heart rhythm (QT prolongation) and cause issues with your blood. Please talk with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding anything.

About Ivosidenib

What Is Ivosidenib Used For?

Brand name: Tibsovo

Tibsovo (ivosidenib) is used to treat adults who have a susceptible IDH1 mutation, confirmed by an FDA-approved test. It treats newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in adults 75 or older, or those who cannot tolerate intensive chemotherapy — either alone or combined with a medicine called azacitidine. It also treats relapsed or refractory AML (AML that has come back or stopped responding to treatment) and relapsed or refractory myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).

Tibsovo is also approved for adults with previously treated, locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer that has spread) who carry an IDH1 mutation.
