Evodia has demonstrated dose-dependent activity as a proarrhythmic agent in animal and in vitro studies. Evodia infusion in animals extends the action duration potential and induces prolongation of the QT interval and Torsade de pointes.

Here's the simple version. Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil) is a long-acting injection that can, in some people, slightly affect the heart's electrical timing, something doctors call the QT interval. Evodia, in lab and animal studies, has shown it may do the same thing. Put them together and the worry is that those effects could stack up, very rarely raising the chance of an irregular heartbeat.

I want to be honest about the evidence here. This is theoretical and comes only from test tube and animal research, not from real patients, so it's far from a sure thing. Still, since your medicine is on a steady schedule, it's worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Evodia, rather than starting it on your own.

Aripiprazole Lauroxil also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.

Theoretically, evodia might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that evodia extract inhibits hepatic CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for your long-acting aripiprazole shot (Aristada). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear this medication. In test-tube studies, evodia appears to slow that same enzyme down. If that held true in people, your aripiprazole could build up a bit higher than usual, which might mean more of its typical effects like drowsiness, restlessness or an inability to sit still, dizziness, or shaky movements.

That said, this is theoretical. It has only been seen in lab research, not in real patients, so I don't want to alarm you. Since this is a depot injection that stays in your system for weeks, it makes sense to mention any evodia or new supplement to your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
