Evodia might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates through induction of CYP1A2.
Evodia extract and the evodia constituent rutaecarpine induce hepatic CYP1A2 enzyme activity. Evodia decreases levels of theophylline and caffeine, CYP1A2 substrates, by about 70% in animal models.

Here's the part of this combo pill that matters most with Evodia: the caffeine. Caffeine is cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, and lab and animal studies suggest Evodia (mainly its compound rutaecarpine) can speed that enzyme up. In animals, caffeine levels dropped by roughly 70 percent. If that holds in people, you might notice the caffeine 'kick' fades faster, so you'd feel less of that little lift or alertness boost it normally gives.

The good news: the aspirin and hydrocodone parts work through different pathways, so their pain relief shouldn't be meaningfully changed here. None of these are prodrugs that get switched on by this enzyme. Keep in mind this evidence is only from test tube and animal work, so it's far from certain. If you take Evodia regularly, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor.

In vitro research shows that evodia extract inhibits hepatic CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for this combo pill (aspirin, caffeine, and hydrocodone). The piece that matters most is the hydrocodone, which your liver processes partly through an enzyme called CYP3A4. In test-tube studies, evodia appears to slow that enzyme down. If the same thing happened in people, hydrocodone could hang around longer and feel stronger, which might mean more drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, nausea, or slowed breathing.

I want to be honest about the evidence, though: this is only seen in lab dishes, not in actual patients, so it's theoretical. Caffeine is also handled by similar liver enzymes, so in theory you could feel a bit more jittery too. Real risk is probably low, but since this product contains an opioid, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.

The combination pill you're asking about (Damason-P) contains aspirin, which already thins the blood by keeping platelets from clumping together. Evodia comes into the picture here because one of its natural compounds, rutaecarpine, appears to do something similar in lab and animal studies. Stacking the two could, in theory, add up and raise your chance of easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or stomach bleeding.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: the evidence is only from test tubes and animals, not people, so it's a theoretical concern rather than a proven one. Light culinary use is unlikely to be a big deal, but concentrated supplement doses are different. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Your medication (Damason-P) combines aspirin, caffeine, and hydrocodone. The piece that interacts with evodia is the caffeine. Evodia appears to speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which is the main pathway your body uses to clear caffeine. If that enzyme runs faster, caffeine gets broken down more quickly, so the small caffeine boost in this combo could fade or feel weaker. The aspirin and hydrocodone parts aren't the concern here.

Honestly, this is a theoretical, animal-study finding, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The caffeine in this pill is a minor helper ingredient, not the reason you're taking it. Still, before adding an evodia supplement, run it past your pharmacist or doctor so they can look at your full picture.
