Here's the simple version: fenugreek can lower blood sugar on its own, and metformin is already working to bring your sugar down. Put them together and their effects can stack up. The clinical research we have suggests this is a real possibility, not just a theory, since fenugreek seed has been shown to lower fasting and after-meal glucose in people with type 2 diabetes.

For most folks this isn't dangerous, but it does mean your numbers could dip lower than usual. Watch for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling unusually tired or hungry. A pinch of fenugreek in cooking is unlikely to matter, but concentrated supplement doses are where I'd pay attention. Before adding a fenugreek supplement, check in with your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your readings.
