Theoretically, fenugreek might have additive effects when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Some of the constituents in fenugreek have antiplatelet effects in animal and in vitro research. However, common fenugreek products might not contain sufficient concentrations of these constituents for clinical effects. A clinical study in patients with coronary artery disease or diabetes shows that taking fenugreek seed powder 2.5 grams twice daily for 3 months does not affect platelet aggregation, fibrinolytic activity, or fibrinogen levels .

Here's the connection to keep in mind with inhaled treprostinil (Tyvaso). Beyond relaxing the blood vessels in your lungs, this medicine also makes your platelets a little less sticky, so it has a mild blood-thinning quality. Fenugreek, in lab and animal studies, seems to have a similar effect on platelets. Put together in theory, the two could add up and slightly raise the chance of bruising or bleeding.

The good news is that this is mostly a theoretical worry. When researchers actually gave people fenugreek seed powder, it didn't measurably change platelet activity. Everyday amounts used in cooking are very unlikely to matter. If you plan to take concentrated fenugreek supplements, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first, and watch for any unusual bruising or bleeding.

Therefore, it is essential to monitor your blood pressure regularly if you are taking fenugreek and metoprolol together or any other antihypertensive drugs.

Here's the simple version: inhaled treprostinil (Tyvaso) works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, which naturally lowers blood pressure a bit. Fenugreek, when taken in concentrated supplement doses, may nudge blood pressure down too. Put them together and those effects can stack up.

If your pressure dips too low, you might notice more lightheadedness, dizziness, flushing, or headache, especially when standing up quickly. The good news is this is rated a minor interaction based on limited evidence (mostly animal data), so it's usually not a big deal. The fenugreek you'd get from cooking or spice amounts is very unlikely to matter. Just keep an eye on how you feel and check in with your pharmacist or doctor before starting a fenugreek supplement.

What Is Treprostinil Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand name: Tyvaso

Treprostinil oral inhalation is used to treat two serious lung conditions that raise pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs. It helps improve how much physical activity you can do.

Tyvaso inhalation solution and Tyvaso DPI are both indicated to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3). Clinical studies establishing effectiveness in PAH primarily included patients with moderate symptoms (NYHA Class III) whose PAH was idiopathic, heritable, or related to connective tissue disease. Studies in PH-ILD primarily included patients with idiopathic interstitial pneumonia, combined pulmonary fibrosis and emphysema, or connective tissue disease-related lung disease.
