Flaxseed Oil + Methyldopa
Methyldopa brand names: Aldomet, Methyldopa.
Flaxseed Oil has a moderate interaction with Methyldopa. Theoretically, combining flaxseed oil with other antihypertensive drugs might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Methyldopa
Methyldopa falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Flaxseed Oil interacts with.
Some clinical evidence suggests that long-term consumption of flaxseed oil can modestly lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure, while other clinical research shows no effect.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: flaxseed oil, over the long haul, may nudge your blood pressure down just a little on its own. Since methyldopa is already working to lower your blood pressure, putting the two together could, in theory, add up and push your numbers a bit lower than expected.
If that happens, you might notice feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or tired, especially when standing up quickly. I want to be honest though: this concern is mostly theoretical and based on how these things work, not strong proof. Many people use both with no trouble. If you decide to take flaxseed oil, it's worth keeping an eye on your blood pressure at home and checking in with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Methyldopa page
“Alcohol is the entry I would read first. Methyldopa (Aldomet) can be hard on the liver by itself, and 38 of the 173 supplement and herbal ingredients here, beer and wine included, carry liver risks that could stack on top of that.”

Natural Medicines records Methyldopa as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Flaxseed Oil — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
