Here's the honest picture with Ibrance (palbociclib) and fulvic acid. Palbociclib works by slowing down cancer cell growth, and one of its expected effects is lowering certain blood counts, including white cells that fight infection. Fulvic acid is grouped here with drugs that calm or suppress the immune system, and the concern on file is that fulvic acid might stimulate immune activity and theoretically work against that kind of therapy.

I want to be straight with you: this is a theoretical concern based on animal and lab studies, not human data, so we really don't know if it matters in real life. Still, since you're treating breast cancer, this isn't the time to add an unproven supplement on your own. Please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first.

About Palbociclib

What Is Palbociclib Used For?

Brand name: Ibrance

Palbociclib (brand name Ibrance) is used to treat adults with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. It is always given in combination with other medicines — either an aromatase inhibitor as a first hormonal treatment, or with fulvestrant after the cancer has progressed on prior hormonal therapy. It is also used with inavolisib and fulvestrant for a specific subtype (PIK3CA-mutated, endocrine-resistant) of this cancer confirmed by an FDA-authorized test.

Ibrance is also approved in combination with trastuzumab (with or without pertuzumab) and endocrine therapy for maintenance treatment of adults with HR-positive, HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, following initial induction treatment.
