Acetaminophen, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine falls under CAFFEINE — the group Genistein Combined Polysaccharide interacts with.
Taking genistein 1 gram daily for 14 days seems to inhibit caffeine clearance and metabolism in healthy females. This effect has been attributed to inhibition of the cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) enzyme, which is involved in caffeine metabolism.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the piece that matters for this combo: your medication contains caffeine, and the genistein in GCP can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 that normally clears caffeine out of your body. In one small study, about 1 gram of genistein daily for two weeks reduced how fast healthy women broke caffeine down. So the caffeine in your Panlor (or DHC Plus) could hang around a bit longer and feel stronger.
In real life that might mean more jitteriness, a racing or pounding heart, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired. Keep in mind this is mostly theoretical and based on limited research, and only the caffeine part is affected, not the dihydrocodeine or acetaminophen. Still, if you plan to use GCP, mention it to your pharmacist or oncologist first so they can keep an eye on things.
