Here's the gist for combining GCP with your fluoxetine (Prozac). The genistein in this soy-and-mushroom supplement might nudge the activity of a liver enzyme called CYP2C9, which plays a role in clearing some medications. Fluoxetine is a regular active drug, not a prodrug, so if its breakdown slowed even a little, more could linger in your system. In theory that might mean a touch more of the usual fluoxetine effects like nausea, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or headache.

The honest truth, though, is that this has only been seen in animal studies, and the interaction is rated minor. Fluoxetine is also handled mostly by other enzymes, so any real-world effect is likely small. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but do mention the supplement to your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.
