Here's the gist with this pairing. Valdecoxib (Bextra) is a COX-2 anti-inflammatory that your body clears mainly through a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. The genistein in GCP may nudge how that enzyme works, and in theory if it slows the enzyme down, a bit more Valdecoxib could hang around. That could mean a slightly bigger chance of typical Valdecoxib side effects like stomach upset, fluid retention, raised blood pressure, or kidney strain.

That said, I'd keep this in perspective. The only signal we have comes from animal studies, not people, and it's rated a minor, possible interaction. So this is more of a 'good to mention' than a 'big worry.' Since you're considering GCP, please loop in your oncologist and pharmacist before combining them.
