Cablivi falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Goldenseal interacts with.

Theoretically, goldenseal might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Goldenseal contains berberine. In vitro and animal research shows that berberine can inhibit platelet aggregation. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the situation with Cablivi (caplacizumab) and goldenseal. Cablivi already works by slowing down clotting, which is why bleeding is a known side effect of this medicine. Goldenseal contains berberine, and in lab dishes and animal studies berberine seems to make platelets a little less sticky too. So in theory, stacking the two could nudge your bleeding risk a bit higher.

I want to be honest though: this effect has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never confirmed in people, so it's a theoretical concern, not a proven one. Still, since Cablivi is used during a serious blood condition, I'd play it safe. Watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding goldenseal.

What Is Caplacizumab-yhdp Injection Used For?

  • Caplacizumab-yhdp injection is used to treat acquired thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (aTTP; a disorder in which the body attacks itself and causes clots, low amounts of platelets and red blood cells, and could cause other serious complications) in combination with plasma exchange therapy and immunosuppressant medications. Caplacizumab-yhdp is in a class of medications called antithrombotic agents. It works by blocking the action of a certain substance in the body that causes the symptoms of aTTP.
