Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Goldenseal interacts with.

Theoretically, goldenseal might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Goldenseal contains berberine. Clinical research shows that berberine can lower blood glucose levels. However, this effect has not been reported with goldenseal.

Here's the thing about dasiglucagon (Zegalogue): it's actually your rescue medicine for the opposite problem. You use it during a severe low blood sugar emergency to push your liver into dumping stored sugar back into your bloodstream and bring you back up fast.

The concern on file is that goldenseal (through its berberine content) may lower blood sugar. So in theory it could work against you and nudge you toward more lows, which is exactly the situation Zegalogue is meant to fix. But I want to be straight with you: this is a theoretical idea based on how berberine behaves, and lowered blood sugar hasn't actually been reported with goldenseal itself. It won't stop your rescue dose from working. Still, mention any goldenseal use to your pharmacist or doctor so your overall diabetes plan stays safe.

What Is Dasiglucagon Injection Used For?

Brand name: Zegalogue

Zegalogue is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — a dangerously low blood sugar episode — in adults and children aged 6 years and older who have diabetes. Severe hypoglycemia is a medical emergency that requires immediate action.

Zegalogue is not a day-to-day diabetes medicine. It is prescribed as an emergency kit to be on hand in case a person with diabetes becomes unresponsive or cannot safely swallow food or juice to raise their blood sugar.
