Goldenseal might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
Clinical and in vitro research shows that goldenseal can significantly inhibit CYP2D6 enzymes, potentially increasing levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.

Theoretically, goldenseal might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
In vitro research shows that goldenseal root extract can modestly inhibit CYP2C9. This effect may be due to its alkaloid constituents, hydrastine and berberine. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Goldenseal Overview
Goldenseal is a perennial herb in the buttercup family that is native to the northeastern portion of North America. It has small, yellow flowers and heart-shaped leaves. The root of the goldenseal herb is among the most commonly used dietary supplements in the U.S., often utilized to treat digestive disorders, such as diarrhea and indigestion, as well as respiratory disorders. It is also thought to have antibacterial, antiparasitic, antifungal, and laxative effects.

Formoterol oral inhalation is used to control wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness caused by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD; a group of lung diseases that includes chronic bronchitis and emphysema). Formoterol is in a class of medications called long-acting beta agonists (LABAs). It works by relaxing and opening air passages in the lungs, making it easier to breathe.
