Goldthread + Rabeprazole Sodium
Rabeprazole Sodium brand names: Aciphex, Aciphex Sprinkle.
Goldthread has a moderate interaction with Rabeprazole Sodium. There's very preliminary evidence that berberine, a constituent of goldthread, might inhibit cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzyme.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Rabeprazole Sodium
Rabeprazole Sodium falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Goldthread interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your acid reflux medicine. Goldthread contains berberine, and lab work hints it may slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Rabeprazole is partly cleared by that same enzyme, so in theory goldthread could let a little more of the drug linger in your system. That might nudge up its effects or mild side effects like headache, nausea, or stomach upset.
I want to be honest about the strength here: this is theoretical, based on test-tube findings, and it hasn't actually been reported in people. Rabeprazole is also generally pretty forgiving, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you plan to take both regularly, give your pharmacist or doctor a quick heads-up first.

About Rabeprazole
What Is Rabeprazole Used For?
Brand names: Aciphex, Aciphex Sprinkle
Rabeprazole delayed-release tablets (sold as AcipHex and as Rabeprazole Sodium) lower stomach acid. In adults, they are used for several conditions. These include healing erosive or ulcerative GERD, keeping it healed, and treating heartburn and other GERD symptoms.
They are also used to heal duodenal ulcers (ulcers in the first part of the small intestine). With the antibiotics amoxicillin and clarithromycin, they treat H. pylori infection in people with duodenal ulcer disease. They are also used long-term for conditions that cause too much stomach acid, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Adolescents 12 and older can take them for up to 8 weeks for symptomatic GERD.
